Racing Updates

St. Anthony’s Triathlon is known for being one of the best Olympic distant races in the country. This year proved to be just that.
Triattic had seven athletes racing in all different categories. Charlie Johnson raced in the Elite Amateur Male division, Brian Bazinet raced in the Charity division and Sandy Holt, Laura Register, Michael Holt, Wayne Thumm, and Keith Rowe covered age groups from 25-29 to 50-54.
Our top performance came from Charlie Johnson finishing the 51.50 kilometers 85th overall in a time of 2:04:42. Next to finish was Sandy Holt representing female 25-29 in a time of 2:31:34 which earned Sandy a free entry and    qualification into the 5150 US Championship race taking place at Hy Vee Triathlon on September 2, 2012. Brian Bazinet raced for a great cause in his first Olympic distance triathlon raising over $1,500 for the Livestrong Foundation – congratulations on a stellar first time race and for your dedication and support to help others! Laura Register and Wayne Thumm were also first time Olympic Distance finishers coming in well ahead of their predicted times! Keith Rowe put a hurting on the men 50-54 with his bike split of 1:10:29 for a 21.2 mph average. Lastly a super congratulation goes to Michael Holt for improving his 2010 time by over 4 minutes finishing in 2:39:38.

The same weekend Triattic had 6 athletes competing in Mexico Beach at Beach Blast sprint triathlon. Congratulations to Jo Curry for winning Female Masters. Al Curry finished 2nd in 50-54 male, Carrie Turner also placed 2nd in 45-49 female. Michelle and Ron Harrison both finished their first triathlon and are now hooked! Bob Keller competed in the Sprint Duathlon and won his age group male 75-59!
